We have endeavored to make the garden attractive yet easy to keep. Similarly for full time residence, the location is PERFECT! Le Quiou is a typical French village of 250 residents in total. With a Bar and excellent Restaurant, Church, a School and of course the Office of the Mairie. But in addition Le Quiou has something that most other villages don’t have. We have a Roman Gallo here that dates back to 100 AD! It is open to the Public and in August and September students come from Rennes University to ‘dig’…. they have found some very interesting artifacts. Le Quiou has recently undergone a big ‘face lift’ having ‘traffic calming’ and landscaping measures added. Le Quiou is right in the heart of the country, with loads of safe areas to walk and cycle. The River Rance only minutes away where one can walk or cycle along its pathways all the way from the Channel to the Atlantic Ocean. If you like to boat or fish you will be in ‘Heaven’. Yet, within twenty minutes you can find your way to large Stores where you can buy everything that you could want.
Living in France is wonderful, the culture, the people who are so friendly and who have maintained old time family values, you won’t come across ‘binge drinking’ and ‘yobos’ over here! The markets are incredible, busy, with an abundance of fresh fruit, veg and fish. No road tax. No TV license and lots more…………………. not to mention one of the best Medical systems in the world….. and I mean the VERY BEST!!!!

If you compare prices of similar property in Brittany, please be aware that 95% of what you look at will NOT be ready to move in to. Many houses don’t have updated Foss systems, rooms are usually very small with slanted roofs in upper floor rooms. Most will require decorating. Bathrooms, usually only one per house, are outdated and will need to be replaced, and virtually no en suites.
